THE GREAT MADRAS COMMUNITY DINE-OUT
The Great Madras Community Dine-Out is gaining traction and is just around the corner! On June 6, 2024, the greater Madras community will be asked to “Dine out” for breakfast, lunch, or dinner at a restaurant, that will have already agreed to donate a portion of their June 6th proceeds back to the Madras Community Food Pantry.
To learn which restaurants have agreed to participate, we will publish a list of participating restaurants here, updated weekly. Also, these restaurants will prominently display a poster of the event in their establishment.
Posters of the event will also appear in various merchant windows around town. As for the Great Madras Community Dine-Out event, momentum is building by the day, so save the June 6th date and DINE-OUT! For questions, contact Dine-Out coordinator: Les Weidner at 503-415-9461.
Festival of Trees
Join us on Saturday, December 7th, 2024, at 6:00 pm at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds for our annual Christmas Tree Decorated and Auction. This event provides an opportunity for the community to come together and support a great cause by auctioning off beautifully decorated Christmas trees, with all proceeds going to the Madras Community Food Pantry. Decoration of trees will be donated by local businesses, service groups, and individuals. A prime rib dinner, done by Joe Davis of the Black Bear, will be served. Our event promises to be a fun-filled evening for the whole family, with activities and refreshments provided. We encourage everyone to come and join us in supporting our community. Cost for dinner - $50.00/person. Also, we are looking for items to be donated for a silent auction. Contact us for more information at 541-325-1747.
Our MISSION
“To alleviate hunger and food insecurity for all those persons living in Jefferson County and the surrounding areas who are at risk.” Our volunteers are passionate about carrying out our mission and focus on ensuring all our clients are treated with dignity and respect. “Hunger is a story we can end.”
How it all began
Our volunteers started handing food out of the office window in 1995. We evolved into a shopping pantry in 2016 and became our own 501c3 nonprofit in 2021.
